Leading Beyond Boundaries was founded by Dr. Veena Nath and Dr. Shelley Spessard, two visionary leaders with a combined 50+ years of experience in education. Their shared passion for transforming education and elevating the voices of women brought them together while working in Stockton Unified, where they began their journey to change the narrative for youth facing poverty and systemic barriers.
With a deep understanding of how traditional public education was not designed to serve all, Dr. Nath and Dr. Spessard have dedicated the last decade to dismantling the broken system and advocating for a more equitable and inclusive future. Their work centers on uplifting women, especially those whose intersecting identities often go unheard. Through Leading Beyond Boundaries, they amplify the stories of women leaders, inspire new generations of changemakers, and push for systemic reforms that prioritize equity and justice.
Their mission is simple: to lead, uplift, and create space for marginalized voices to thrive, all while challenging the boundaries that hold us back from true progress.
